Eight beliefs behind the work.

RE Luxe Leaders works with people who have built a business and want to decide what comes next. Our beliefs matter in how we listen, challenge an interpretation, make a recommendation and follow through. They should be visible in the work.

1. Keep learning.

Experience gives us a perspective to bring to a decision. We also need to understand this business, this market and the people involved. We keep learning and revise our understanding when the evidence gives us a reason to do so.

2. Be candid.

A useful conversation needs room for an honest assessment. We explain what we see, the basis for it and what remains uncertain. If our experience or approach does not fit the work you need, we should say so.

3. Invest in the work together.

We want our contribution to help a client act. That means understanding the business, developing useful recommendations and participating in the changes we agree to undertake. The client’s choices and involvement are part of the work.

4. Let the client define progress.

Growth, profitability, stability, greater control and succession can each be worthwhile objectives. We discuss what matters to the owner and agree how progress will be assessed. A result needs to be understood in relation to that objective.

5. Take responsibility.

Clear responsibilities and follow-through matter on both sides of an engagement. We review commitments, address what has changed and take responsibility for our part. When something goes wrong, the next conversation should help establish what needs to happen.

6. Consider who the decision affects.

A business decision reaches the people who work in it and the clients it serves. We take those consequences into account. Recommendations need to be practical for the people carrying them out and useful to the business they support.

7. Make room for life.

The meaning of success extends beyond production. Work, relationships, rest and personal ambitions can shape what an owner wants from the business. We make room for that conversation without assuming the same priorities for every client.

8. Respect the people.

We care about the people we work with and the contribution each can make. Respect includes listening, treating people as individuals and being willing to have a difficult conversation with care. Differences in background or perspective deserve consideration.

These beliefs guide our approach; each engagement still has its own responsibilities, scope and terms. Explore how we work and Chris Pollinger’s background to learn more about the practice.
